Organic Towel Set

Your Old Towel is Failing You, Here's Why:

A Sanctuary for Odor
Odor-causing and harmful bacteria (such as Staph or E. coli) and fungi (like candida or yeast) thrive in damp towels, multiply in the fibers, and end up back on your clean skin.

Toxic Ingredients You Never Asked For
Harsh petrochemicals (like synthetic dyes) and antimicrobial finishes, often based on silver or synthetic biocides, are common in towels and simply don't belong on your skin.

Deceptive Greenwashing
Greenwashing, vague labels, and unproven antibacterial claims are widespread. Even many "organic" brands still rely on synthetic dyes and petrochemicals - they just don't tell you.

Bioactive Plant Dye, Not Synthetic Coatings
Certain plant dyes contain naturally occurring bioactive compounds with antimicrobial properties. These compounds are known to interfere with microbial cell membranes and proteins, reducing the ability of bacteria and fungi to survive and multiply on surfaces.

Permanently Bound, Active Where It Matters
Using AIZOME’s patented ultrasonic dyeing process, these plant-derived compounds are infused into the cotton fiber. Instead of sitting on the surface or washing out over time, they become part of the textile and interfere with microbial growth on the fabric.

Less Microbes, Less Odor, Longer-Lasting Freshness
The result is a towel that shows significantly reduced microbial buildup over time, helping it stay fresher between washes - without relying on synthetic antimicrobial finishes or chemical treatments.
Reduces up to 99% of Bacteria and Fungi on the Textile Surface
Based on independent laboratory testing using standardized methods (JIS L 1902:2015 / GB/T 20944.2-2007), AIZOME plant-dyed cotton fabric showed up to 99% reduction of bacteria and fungi after 18 hours compared to conventional fabric, and was also evaluated for retention of antimicrobial properties after repeated washing cycles. Uncompromising Standards, Internationally Awarded
Independently Verified Performance
Our antimicrobial claims are confirmed by third-party laboratories using internationally recognized test methods. We publish our results because true quality should be measurable - not just claimed.
FDA Class I Registered (Direct Skin Contact)
Our textiles are listed with the FDA for applications involving direct skin contact - an uncommon step in an industry that is largely unregulated. We choose higher standards, because what touches your skin should meet them.
OEKO-TEX®️ Standard 100 Certified Materials
All certified components are verified to be free from harmful substances. And we go further - by eliminating synthetic dyes and unnecessary chemical finishes, not merely meeting standards, but redefining them.
Join the Movement
Join those who've decided to leave behind the stink, the chemicals, and the lies - and start fresh.
Send us your old towels. We recycle or donate them responsibly. You Get $10 off your next order.
This isn't just an upgrade. It's a reset.

FAQ
What makes AIZOME towels different from regular towels?
AIZOME towels are plant-dyed with bioactive dyes that naturally reduce odor-causing microbes - without silver, synthetic treatments, or chemical coatings.
How does this compare to silver-treated towels?
Depending on the specific bacteria tested, performance is on par or better than silver, without the known downsides of silver treatments (wash-out, skin irritation concerns, environmental impact). Our function comes from the dye itself, not a coating.
Is this a coating or built into the fabric?
It is built into the fabric through the plant-dye process. Nothing is added on top, and nothing simply “washes off.”
Is this safe for sensitive skin?
Yes. The towels are made from unbleached organic cotton, OEKO-TEX® compliant materials, and contain no synthetic antimicrobial chemicals.
Does this towel really reduce bacteria and odor?
Yes. Independent lab tests show up to 99% reduction of specific bacteria and fungi on the textile surface, including after 20 wash cycles.
When will my towel ship?
Production starts after a successful campaign. We start shipping June / July, and all backers should have their towels by end of July.
What happens if the campaign doesn’t reach its goal?
You get a 100% full refund. No product is produced, and you are not charged.
Do you ship internationally?
Yes. International shipping is available, but shipping costs are paid by the backer.
What sizes are available?
Sizes and set configurations are listed on the campaign page. We are starting with sets to simplify production. Single sizes may unlock via stretch goals.
Why do you crowdfund?
Crowdfunding lets us produce responsibly, avoid overproduction, and keep control of quality—without venture capital or mass-market compromises.
How should I wash and care for them?
Machine wash cold or warm, mild detergent, no bleach, no fabric softener. Tumble dry low or hang dry. Like any towel, they still need normal washing.
Will the color fade?
Plant dyes age naturally over time. Slight tone changes are normal and part of the character of natural dyeing.
What is your return policy?
You can return the product within 1 year after receiving it for a 100% refund (see campaign page for details).
What does the 10-year manufacturing warranty cover?
It covers defects in materials and workmanship. It does not cover normal wear and tear or damage like stains, bleach damage, or misuse.
Where can I see the lab tests?
You can download the original, independent lab reports here for full transparency.
Are these medical products?
No. While tested for antimicrobial performance and FDA Class I registered as a textile product, they are not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease.
What does FDA Class I mean?
FDA Class I is a regulatory category for low-risk medical devices and materials used in direct contact with the body. Being listed means this textile is registered in a medical context and manufactured under regulatory oversight for safety and traceability.
What this means for you: Stricter standards, better documentation, and higher safety expectations than ordinary consumer towels.
Note: This towel is not intended to diagnose, treat, or prevent disease. The FDA Class I registration refers to the regulatory category and manufacturing oversight for materials used in direct skin contact. It reflects higher safety and documentation standards—not a medical claim.
Is the Virgin Cotton antibacterial?
So far, only our indigo (Deep & Natural Indigo) and madder (Rosé Rubia) dyed colors are tested for antimicrobial performance.
The undyed Virgin Cotton version is not tested for antimicrobial efficacy, but it uses the same clean, chemical-free materials and processing.
Is the Virgin Cotton white?
The Virgin Cotton variant comes undyed and unbleached. The color is the one of pure, organic cotton, an ivory off-white, and has tiny dark specks .
Those specks are a signature of purity in our cotton, vary from harvest to harvest, and are caused by tiny fragments of the cotton plant that survived the ginning and spinning process because the fabric wasn't subjected to heavy chemical processing and bleach.
Transparency & Testing
AIZOME plant-dyed fabrics (Indigo & Madder) were tested by independent laboratories using recognized standards (e.g., JIS L 1902:2015) and showed significant reduction of bacteria and fungi on the textile surface under laboratory conditions, including after repeated washing (tested up to 20 cycles). Results describe material performance under test conditions, not medical outcomes.
Virgin (undyed) organic cotton has not been tested for antimicrobial performance and is offered as a pure, untreated textile option.
FDA Class I Registered refers to registration for textile applications involving direct skin contact. Products are not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent disease.
OEKO-TEX®️ certified materials indicate components verified to be free from harmful substances.
“Organic cotton” refers to the cotton source meeting GOTS standards, not a finished-product certification.
