AIZOME products are made consciously, with respect to the ingredients, the workers, and the wearers. Free from chemicals and synthetics from seed to sheet, our sheets are dyed with living colors, born of sunlight, rain, and the dedication of human labor and love.

Our ultrasonic dyeing process uses high- frequency sound waves and low heat, allowing for a significant reduction of water and energy usage. Color remains true even after 100 washes, and will not bleed.

AIZOME sheets require up to 200x's less dye water than conventionally-dyed sheets. Because our products are entirely natural, they can go straight into the compost, but because of their durability, that won't be a consideration for years.

Good sheets should not only feel good, they need to smell good, too. Bad smells that linger are caused by microbes nesting in your sheets, and these microbes can stress your skin. AIZOME sheets are naturally antibacterial – particularly those dyed with indigo – so you sleep soundly, and smell-free. Verify the test results here.

Because many of our customers suffer from eczema, psoriasis, or atopic dermatitis, dermatological approval  is of the utmost importance. We put our fabric to the ultimate test; under the control of a dermatologist, 52 participants wore a patch of AIZOME fabric against their skin for 30 days straight. The conclusion? AIZOME fabrics “produced no signs of cutaneous irritation nor of skin sensitization.”

AIZOME textiles is a class 1 medical device manufacturer registered with the FDA. We are currently advancing our textiles through the FDA medical device registration process, advocating for registration and disclosure of the substances used in textiles, as is done with pesticides in the agricultural industry. 

A few years ago, we pitched the idea of indigo as a wound-healing agent to researchers at the University of Cambridge. The subsequent study on indigo dye yielded clear results: in wound-healing efficacy, indigo was on par with the leading topical steroid, but with none of the side effects.
