From WASTECARE™, our revolutionary approach of turning our textile wastewater into skincare, to AIZOME Ultra, pioneering new medicinal fabric technologies, we continuously challenge the limits of textile possibilities.

If you think about it though, we’re not doing anything new. Traditional dyers used indigo dye without gloves, and applying it directly to wounds even helped with healing. Creating a skincare product from our dye waste just shows how much the industry needs to rethink conventional practices and the human and environmental impact of their choices.

In collaboration with a leading pharmaceutical company in Japan, we have embarked on an innovative initiative to register our wastewater as an active ingredient under the International Nomenclature of Cosmetic Ingredients (INCI) system.

By registering our wastewater with INCI, we ensure it meets all regulatory standards and can be safely and effectively used by other companies. This initiative not only underscores our commitment to environmental sustainability but also opens new avenues for resource efficiency and waste minimization within the industry.

At AIZOME, we’re also about grass-roots education. We have fun creating crazy videos and marketing campaigns, but one of the most meaningful experiences we had last year was the Healthy Threads Textile Sumit that we hosted along with our partners, the owners of Toxy Free, an independent nontoxic store in Stillwater, MN.

The summit featured a book signing with award-winning investigative journalist, Alden Wicker (author of To Dye For), and a panel discussion moderated by KSTP’s Elizabeth Ries between Alden, Kris Hansen, the former 3M chemist-turned-whistleblower and subject of the recent New Yorker's in-depth feature on PFAs, and Karen Wade Cavanagh, the legal counsel and former co-chair of the US working group on bioterrorism decontamination.

The event sold-out, speakers received a standing ovation, and we are already planning a new summit for 2025!

We have opened an R&D division, primarily working with government-funded grant opportunities to further test the potential medicinal properties that can be transferred into fabrics, as well as longevity of antimicrobial activity. 

Our patented process for dermatological applications empowers us to lead in the development and production of 'medicinal fabrics,' enhancing both their creation and scalability.
