How do conventional bed sheets or clothing affect my health?
It is well-known and documented that the dyeing process of textiles releases hazardous chemicals into the environment. These chemicals carry over into the finished products.
Your skin and body is in contact daily with these chemicals. Those chemicals potentially pose a risk to your health and may cause skin irritation, affect reproduction and carcinogenicity.

Will sleeping in AIZOME and clothing cure my skin diseases?
Aizome was made to ease the dry, scabby symptoms of your skin conditions in mind. Aizome solves the main issues that aggravates skin irritation that you may get from other bed sheets or clothing:
Issue 1: Chemicals used in the textile-making process or synthetic fibers in the fabric. Most companies (even organic textiles) use chemicals in the dyeing process to ensure the color doesn't wash out. Aizome's proprietary process to dye fabrics does NOT use any chemicals, making our fabric only 2 simple ingredients: organic cotton and natural dyes.

Issue 2: Pathogens growing on textiles such as bed mites, bacteria or fungi
Aizome uses all natural materials and no chemicals are used in the process - this means the natural bacteria / fungi repelling properties of the plants are in the fabric. Because of this, Aizome fabric limits bacteria / fungi growth on our products leading to less skin irritation.

Issue 3: Mechanical irritation such as friction because of rough materials
Aizome uses a sateen weave, giving the smoothest finish for the best comfort.

Absolutely! We follow international guidelines to qualify our products to be safe for toddlers and infants.
I hate bed mites. Can AIZOME help control my bed mites?
We hate bed mites, too! Bed mites love synthetic fabric like polyester. Because Aizome is made with all organic and natural materials, the fabric naturally repels bacteria and bed mites, keeping those bad boys away.

What kind of detergent and fabric softener should I use for sensitive skin?
The color of your AIZOME is very strong and won't wash out regardless what detergent you use. But for your sensitive skin we recommend using plant-based organic detergent and softeners.
Is your cotton organic?
Yes. Our cotton is Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS) certified.
Is your product dermatologically tested?
Yes, all our products are tested by dermatologist-led institute to verify that they are safe for skin and hypoallergenic. AIZOME Bedding has the highest quality standards performing various tests and verification on our fabrics.
Where do you produce your bed sheets?
We produce our products in Japan, China, Turkey, and the Philippines under strictly controlled conditions. Every stage of our production meets the highest quality standards. The quality management, review process, and safety inspections are all managed or done according to the highest quality standards.
How should I take care of my AIZOME bed sheets and clothing? Can they be washed and dried in the machine?
AIZOME products are machine-washable. Ideally, to maintain the most soft, vibrant bed sheets and clothing, we recommend:
- Do not bleach
- Lay flat to dry if possible
- Wash at up to 140°F / 60°C
Aizome products are machine-dryable, but may fade over long periods of time like most other fabrics put in the dryer.
If you suffer from sensitive skin make sure to switch to organic washing powder or other cleaning methods as residual chemicals from aggressive detergents can harm your skin.

Can I dry clean AIZOME products?
You can dry clean Aizome products - the color should not fade.

What is the difference between ‘indigo’ and ‘natural indigo’?
Indigo refers to the blue color extracted through a fermentation process from the leaves of the Indigofera plant. Today, producers use the much cheaper and color-fast chemical version calledanilinwhich, other than the blue appearance, has nothing in common with the natural variation. Quite the opposite, chemical indigo is a highly toxic color that has made the jeans industry infamous for poisoning water bodies in producing countries. Natural indigo however, is a plant used throughout the ages for its skin-soothing effects. Thanks to our proprietary production process we are to date the only company that makes color-fast natural indigo fabrics.
What is 'Virgin Cotton' color?
'Virgin Cotton' refers to untreated and unbleached cotton. Cotton is usually not white, but has to be bleached using strong chemicals. We don't use chemicals but rather use authentic cotton that is free of chemicals.
Is this indigo the same as in my jeans?
Most likely not - your jeans probably contain chemical (synthetic) indigo that can be highly toxic in its pure form, not natural indigo like Aizome uses.
Will the color of AIZOME products fade?
We use a proprietary technology that uses high-frequency sound waves to blast the liquid dye into the fabric. The result is textiles without chemicals where the color won't run. We've tested our products to see how fast the color will fade from the fabric (color-fastness test) and they rank within the highest level of color fastness. This means our fabrics retain color more than most other fabrics.
Are you going to make different colors?
Yes, we are working on new colors for the bedsheets. Stay tuned on our newsletter!
